Qualitative Methods
Overview
Qualitative Methods provide a systematic approach to exploring how individuals cooperate in the social construction of reality. These methods are uniquely suited to understanding how individuals and groups come to define situations in specific ways, give meaning to their experiences, and interpret their surroundings.
Qualitative Methods include field research (sometimes called ethnography or participant observation), interviewing, and the use of images (still or moving) and documents (historical or contemporary) as data.
