Colonel Philip A. Bossert, Jr.
Colonel Philip A. Bossert, Jr. is Commander, Air Force ROTC Detachment 003, and Professor of Air Force Science at the University of Houston. He is responsible for recruiting and preparing officer candidates for Air Force commissioning through a comprehensive college program.
Colonel Bossert was born in New York City and grew up in Massapequa, Long Island, New York where he became an Eagle Scout. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1982 as a distinguished military graduate from the Air Force Academy. As an airlift pilot he has served in various flying, special duty, school, command, staff, and joint assignments. Colonel Bossert has over 3,900 flying hours and has participated in Operations JUST CAUSE, DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, and ENDURING FREEDOM.
