Volunteer to Be a Research Assitant
- Research experience can benefit undergraduate students, post-baccalaureate students, as well as many other members of the community
- As a research assistant for the Health Psychology Research Group, you will assist Dr. Mary Naus, the group’s director, and graduate students with a number of activities:
- Library research
- Study design and implementation
- Data collection and analysis
- Research write-ups for journal articles and conference papers
- General office-work
- Additionally, as a part of the Health Psychology Research Group, RAs attend bimonthly meetings to participate in team planning, group presentations, and guest lecturers
- This position requires a minimum of ten hours of work per week over the course of one year. This time commitment allows the research assistant to gain valuable experience and knowledge regarding the process of creating, developing and implementing all aspects of research studies. As a result of these contributions, RAs will be included on various types of publications.
- This experience is particularly helpful for students planning careers in psychology, medicine or social work.
- Course credit is available for matriculating undergraduates
