I am a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University
of Houston. I received my PhD at the University of Pittsburgh
and have taught at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Notre
Dame, Rice University and the University of Illinois at Chicago where I
was a visiting professor in Computer Science. My research interests include
the philosophy of mind, neural networks, logic, formal semantics, natural
language processing and philosophical issues concerning the impact of information
technology. My publications include articles on logic, semantics, linguistics,
the philosophy of cognitive science, and computerized education.
