To students enrolled in MCL courses this semester:
Now that you've taken an MCL course, you might wish to consider taking other ones, so that you have a major or minor with us. One option for the minor is World Cultures and Literature (WCL) made up of MCL and WCL courses in English and/or your language(s) of choice as well as courses in other UH departments and programs. We will release an updated wcl brochure shortly. But meantime, just take a look at our great lineup of courses for this spring (including a new one in Middle East studies), and consider signing up for one or more of them. Also, keep in mind that you choose a special emphasis (e.g., Middle East studies, European Studies, etc.) and then take 4 courses in that area along with WCL 2351 or 2352 and WCl 4351 or 4352. You have just met one of those requirements, and you may have others in your chosen emphasis already. In addition you can take two courses that fit with your major but also fit with your chosen emphasis, so it's possible you may already have 3 or 4 of the six courses you need for the minor! If you have any questions e-mail Marc Zimmerman
