Houston Sängerbund Study Abroad Scholarship
The German program in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at the University of Houston is announcing two scholarships ($1,250 each) for study abroad (summer or fall 2009) in a German-speaking country. The Houston Sängerbund is an organization founded in 1883 by Texas-Germans in the tradition of German singing clubs. It still keeps the rich tradition of German vocal music alive in Houston today and continues to play an active role in the Houston community as this generous donation of scholarship money to UH German students indicates.
Special consideration will be given to students who have declared a minor or Major in German or German Area Studies.
