Reread  Hesiod, Theogony,lines 1-112, 573-620; Hesiod, Myth of the Ages, in Works and Days,lines 64-125

Know the nature of Hesiod's poems.

Understand:

The function of the Muses and the creation of authority in the beginning of the Theogony

Interpretation of the fabrication of Pandora and the attributes she receives.

Interpretation of the Myth of the Ages.  The hierarchy of the metals.

Identify the names of the deities who have a role in the creation of Pandora.  (See the notes in the translation by Lombardo, on reserve).
