Felipe Hinojosa has received a dissertation-year fellowship from the Hispanic Theological Initiative (HTI) for academic year 2008-2009. Felipe's dissertation, "Making Noise Among the 'Quiet in the Land': Mexican American, Puerto Rican, and African American Ethno-Religious Identity in the Mennonite Church, 1932-1980," exampines identity formation within the multiethnic context of the Mennonite Minority Ministries Council and is under the direction of Dr. Guadalupe San Miguel, Jr. HTI, a program funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts at Princeton Theological Seminary, provides doctoral level grants and mentoring for Latina/o scholars from a variety of academic disciplines.
