2009 was an exciting year for the University of Houston and for the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences.
Many have commented that the summer of 2009 was one of the busiest in memory on this campus. Indeed, this year has been remarkably invigorating; we have been enjoying a period of unprecedented activity and accomplishment here at the University of Houston. The exciting journey that was the year 2009 has come to an end for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Houston.
From the White House to across the pond, CLASS received glowing accolades and awards, making the CLASS name shine brighter than ever before.
CLASS received generous gifts and donations that will help the college achieve our top tier goals. In 2009 CLASS we also experienced loss with the passing of some very special friends.
Now that the year has gone, we look back at all the pieces that made up the unforgettable picture that was 2009 at the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
The year gone by was tremendous in terms of success and achievements. We’ve seen ups and downs; great wins and great losses.
In the words of the school of communication’s namesake, Jack J. Valenti – “There isn’t anything in the world that can’t be made better” and so, after an amazing 2009, let us look forward to a bigger and better 2010 for CLASS, and for the University of Houston.
