Cougar Concepts also won the Best Media Plan Award. Seth Johnson (Senior) won the Best Individual Speaking Award and Cheng-En Lee won an AAF Scholarship worth $1250.
The 21 student, Cougar Concepts NSAC team, were required to develop an integrated marketing communications plan for State Farm Insurance, designed to change the perception of State Farm among 18-25 year olds. The group's faculty advisor was Larry Kelley, Clinical Professor of Advertising. Adjunct faculty member, Rosario Laudicina assisted with the group.
This year District 10 was a Mega-District with 18 teams entering the contest. The competition was split into two groups. Texas State won the first competition and the University of Houston won the second. The University of Houston was one of the top 10% of all schools in the competition earning the overall top score for both competitions.
Cougar Concepts will compete in the National Competition in Orlando FL, on June 10 and 11.
A Little Something Extra
Team member, Tiffany Wagner Citron, one of the designers, had a baby just three days after the entry was shipped to the competition. Maybe Little Miss Victory brought the team good luck. In any case, she's so cute; I had to share her picture.
