The Sophistication of Beauty

Sephora is another place that appears to be a little consumer-”unfriendly.” It is a large, up-scale make-up store that sells brands by the names of Chanel, Frederic Fekkai, and Giorgio Armani. While the saleswomen are nice enough, they appear to be rather cool and snobbish. While paying for my purchases of Philosophy skin care, the woman handling my transaction discreetly whispered into her walkie-talkie to another co-worker to keep an eye on two teenage girls giggling by the rack of Smashbox cosmetics. The co-worker quickly fixed a steely gaze on them. The girls appeared to be high school age. If you are under 18, this is not the place to be frolicking in. Browsers beware. These women will only treat you seriously if you plunk down at least fifty dollars in high-priced beauty care, many of which is equal to their far more affordable drugstore counterparts.
