The Rise and Fall of a Department Store Giant
Lord and Taylor’s appears to be the biggest problem for Memorial City Mall. In October 2003, it was slated for closure. However, I observed that it is still open and doing business rather well. The mall sees no reason to close it as of now. It remains as one of three locations that are still open in Texas. It is an upper-class department store, which first opened in New York City. Poor sales and lack of consumer interest have forced many Lord and Taylor’s to close across the United States.
