GPA Requirements and Expectations

A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.8 is required to be considered for admission into the PB program in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition, no students may continue in the PB program if they receive a grade below a B- in a COMD course.  PB students will not be allowed to repeat a course in COMD.  Therefore, your grades will be reviewed throughout the program.

Furthermore, applicants are not considered for admission to the graduate program if their GPA in the major is less than 3.0, or if their last 60 hours GPA is less than 3.0.

Course Sequence

You may complete the program in one or two years. You do not receive a second Bachelor’s degree by completing the Post-bachelor’s program.

The Post-bachelor’s program begins in the fall only. You will not end your program more quickly by beginning in the spring. The courses are very tightly sequenced, with all the fall courses being pre-requisites for the spring courses.

Progress throughout the Post-bachelor’s program is carefully monitored. If you would not meet the minimum requirements for consideration for the graduate program, you will not be allowed to continue in the Post-bachelor’s program.
