Library of CLCWeb
(Comparative Literature and Culture) provides information on
research related to cognitive science and literature, that is, in the
mode of the systemic and empirical approach to literature. Also, CLCWeb is
interested in publishing work in cognitive science and literature.
Association for the Scientific Study
of Consciousness. "ASSC promotes research within cognitive science, neuroscience, philosophy, and
other relevant disciplines in the sciences and humanities, directed toward
understanding the nature, function, and underlying mechanisms of
consciousness." Includes various ongoing e-seminars.
Protothinker Project, Illinois
State University, which allows student to build a virtual person in
cyberspace and in a robotics lab. Many other resources here concerning their program,
curriculum, related software, etc.
Brainsurf "Brainsurf is a multimedia web site that introduces secondary school students and the
general public to the exciting field of neuroscience. Through our fun, colorful,
interactive format, individuals can learn about neuroscience research, model
organisms, scientists at work, brain facts, and career opportunities. The site
emphasizes work done in learning and memory in the lab of Dr. Edgar T. Walters at UT
Medical School-Houston." (Editor's Note: This one really is a must; it is pretty extraordinary visually!)
Center for the Cognitive Science of Metaphor, maintained by Tim Rohrer, U of Oregon
Philosophy Department, includes numerous papers on-line, an annotated bibliography, and more.
It is devoted to the study of metaphor theory,
conceptual blending, and cognitive linguistics more generally.
Persons, Self,
and Personal Identity: Shaun Gallagher's bibliography which includes a number of specialized bibliographies, one on cognitive science approaches to the
self and one on narrative approaches to the self.
