E.T.C. Rules
- Photo ID is required. To be admitted to the E.T.C., you must present your Cougarnet ID and another form of positive identification, such as a driver's license. Photo ID credit cards are not acceptable. You will not be able to take an exam without the designated ID information.
- You must enter the E.T.C. quietly as students may be concentrating on an exam.
- You must remain quiet at all times in the E.T.C.
- Only students registered to take an exam are permitted in the testing room. The E.T.C. cannot allow guests, visitors, or family member(s) to be in the center at any time.
- All personal items are to be stored in the cubicles provided at the E.T.C. You may not take calculators (including watch calculators), books, papers, notes, pagers, PDA's, cell phones, cameras, recording devices, purses, backpacks, or any other electronic devices or reference materials to the computer station. They are to be stored in a cubicle, but it is recommended that these items be left at home or locked in a car trunk. All cellular phones, watches, and pagers must be turned off. The E.T.C. faulty/staff are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. If you are not comfortable placing your belongings in a cubicle, do not bring them with you.
- No food or beverages in the testing room.
- No “In/Out”. Students must remain seated until their test is complete. If you leave the room, you have completed testing - you must turn in your exam.
- Students requiring special arrangements (i.e. time extensions, added materials, etc.) must make these arrangements with the instructor prior to testing.
- You may not ask questions about the test after the test begins.
- Any candidate who gives or receives assistance during the test will be required to shut down their computer and leave the room.
E.T.C. Guidelines
- Students requiring special arrangements (i.e. time extensions, added materials, etc.) must make these arrangements with the instructor and the Center for Students with DisABILITIES prior to testing.
- E.T.C. is monitored at all times through video surveillance.
- Food and drink are not allowed in the E.T.C.
- E.T.C. and staff assume no responsibility for students' personal belongings.
E.T.C. Closings and Delayed Starting Times
If adverse conditions (such as extreme weather or a local power failure) or other unplanned circumstances at the University of Houston that may make it necessary to cancel the administration of a test or to delay the beginning of testing, a message will be posted on the E.T.C website. Do not call the E.T.C.
