Welcome to CLASS ETC — the Electronic Testing Center for the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (Agnes Arnold Hall Room 101)

The goal of the E.T.C. is to provide CLASS faculty with a means to ensure the integrity of the assessments being administered in their courses. The E.T.C. features a secured, 96-station computer lab utilizing WebCT assessment tools. Instructors are able to make use of a wide range of question types, including multiple choice, true-false, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and essay.
Instructors are able to arrange a block of time at the E.T.C. to administer their assessments. Instructors are required to schedule their test periods, meet their students at the appropriate time, instruct them to store all personal belongings in the provided cubicles, and, along with support staff, proctor the exams. The E.T.C. is not staffed, so instructors must arrange the proctoring of the tests.
E.T.C. Guidelines
- Students requiring special arrangements (i.e. time extensions, added materials, etc.) must make these arrangements with the instructor and the Center for Students with DisABILITIES prior to testing.
- E.T.C. is monitored at all times through video surveillance.
- Food and drink are not allowed in the E.T.C.
- E.T.C. and staff assume no responsibility for students' personal belongings.
E.T.C. Closings and Delayed Starting Times
If adverse conditions (such as extreme weather or a local power failure) or other unplanned circumstances at the University of Houston make it necessary to cancel the administration of a test or to delay the beginning of testing, a message will be posted on the E.T.C website. Do not call the E.T.C.
