Respondus is a Windows application that enhances the functionality and usability of Blackboard's quiz, survey, and self-test tools for instructors and course designers. The following tutorial is based on Respondus 4.0 Campus-Wide Edition.

This tutorial will walk you through the most common type of exam that instructors create: A Multiple Choice exam that randomizes the questions from a Question Set.

Before you start, you might want to download and install the Respondus software. If this is your first time using Respondus, you will need to send a message to classidt@uh.edu to get the license registration codes.

1. Format a Word Document for Respondus Import
   • Exporting a Word Document as Text
2. Import the Questions From Your Word File
   • Troubleshooting Your Import
3. Set Up the Blackboard Server Information
4. Publish to Blackboard
