13.3 Overview of dependent clauses
The functions of dependent clauses with respect to a main clause upon which they depend may be paralleled to the functions of three parts of speech in a simple clause: nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Classifying dependent clauses accordingly allows us to perceive more easily the structure of complex periods. The examples on this page are in English. For examples in Greek of noun clauses, the only type studied so far, go to 12.3, 12.4a and Rev2.11.
