Academic Achievers Program
The Academic Achievers Program is sponsored by the Center for Mexican American Studies and the Office of the President. It was established in the fall of 1994 and is designed to retain and propel more students to graduation. At the end of the 2003 Fall semester, 14 students graduated from the program. At the beginning of the Spring 2004 semester, the Academic Achievers Program had a total of 75 students enrolled. Services offered by the program include:
- $2,500 annual scholarship
- Mandatory individual academic tutoring
- Skills workshops and leadership training
- Career and internship opportunities
- Priority registration

Student Leadership Retreat: Unity Weekend
On February 16-18, 2007 the Academic Achievers Program sponsored a Leadership Retreat for 32 students at Camp Allen, Navasota. The purpose of the retreat was to provide students the opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills.
